Scouting Tradition Shapes Ohio’s Future Leaders

The scouting tradition is one that I hold near and dear, and it is always important for me to recognize the young men and women who accomplish their goals as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I was involved in Scouting for many years and can attest that the work these organizations do for our children goes a long way. They have been around since the early 1900s and maintain their same missions today—to help mold and support the future leaders of our country.

The scouting tradition prioritizes values that I hold in high regard. Mentorship, a strong and moral character, development of life skills, and service to others are important tenets of both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and are important building blocks to becoming a successful leader. It is for these reasons that I make every effort to present commendations on behalf of the Ohio House to Eagle Scouts and Gold Award recipients in the 89th House District.

It is vital to recognize these students for going above and beyond in pursuit of a promising future. Not only are they involved in school, but they make the time for these organizations that do so much to teach our children about adventure, hands-on learning, and achievement. That is why as a community we must recognize these young leaders for all they have accomplished as Boy and Girl Scouts.

I like to personally congratulate each and every Eagle Scout and Gold Award recipient for their success and especially those here in the 89th House District. I would ask members of our community who know of an Eagle Scout or Gold Award recipient who should be honored on behalf of the Ohio House to contact my office so that I can present a commendation or attend the ceremony. My office can be reached at (614) 644-6011 or Rep89@ohiohouse.gov.
